OUR STORY 

 

Margaret and myself married in 1974 and almost immediately commenced a yearning we both had for showing dogs by buying a West Highland White Terrier from Barbara Hands ( Crinan ). We showed under our affix at this time ‘ Kaishlan ‘.

 

Margaret showed Jamie the Westie with some success mainly at open shows. We also bought a Great Dane from Jean Lanning ( Clausentum ) which I showed at open show level.

 

In 1993 having not shown for some years due to family commitments, we attempted to renew our affix which had lapsed but to no avail and we then obtained the present affix of  Kaishmar. We then brought another Great Dane  Devarro Lord of The Rings at Kaishmar ( Ryan ). He qualified for Crufts at his first show and went on to win Best Puppy in Breed at Crufts the following year.  That was it we were hooked again and Margaret began the search for a smaller breed of dog to show herself.

 

It was not long before the decision was made – it had to be a Blenheim Cavalier. Finally in 1996 after a lot of searching we bought a Blenheim dog puppy from Marion and Ray Pearson  Charlandra Welsh Gold at Kaishmar  ( Jamie ). His sire was Michael Boothroyds Gelana Gold Nugget of Roydwood. Jamie did really well a open show level winning numerous BPs and BOBs and BIS. He also gained his Junior Warrant.

 

At this time we were assisting in running the show training classes at Aughton Chase Show Centre in Lancashire where we lived. We were also on the committee of the Wigan Canine Society for several years.

 

I adored our cavalier so much that I had to have a little girl to show myself. This little girl turned out to be Allrena Karrianne at Kaishmar

( Katie ) born in December 1998 and bred by Irene Tidswell. Katie was a star she loved the show ring and did very well at both open and championship level.

 

With the thought in mind that we would like to breed  cavaliers we moved to a bungalow with a large garden set in the Shropshire countryside. The property needed a great deal of renovation but it has been worth all the hard work.

 

Katie had one litter of 5 girls by Ch Sanickro Made by Magic. One of her grand-daughters is now living in California with our good friend Betty Johnson ( Ashby Royal ).

 

In September 2001 we bought another blenheim bitch from Lorraine Crozier , Korraines Bay Breeze at Kaishmar  (  Abbie ). She decided she did not like showing one little bit but made up for that by producing some beautiful puppies. In her first litter she had two Tricolour boys by Salador Celtic Magician and her secong litter by Ch Judyland  Touch of Magic produced Ch Kaishmar Cara Mia Mine ( Heidi ) and Kaishmar Cool Hand Luke. We could not have asked for any more from our beautiful little Abbie.

 

 

Heidi was mated to  Ch Timsar Mister Moonlighter bred by Annette Jones.  We kept two bitches from this litter,Kaishmar Quite Contrary and  Kaishmar Crazy Rhythm both of whom qualified for Crufts 2008.

 

Heidi’s next litter was by Ch Charwelton Tate JW produced and produced two boys and one girl. We kept one of the boys Kaishmar Carlos  ( Bertie ) and the girl Kaishmar Cara Bella went to live with our very good friend  Daniela Spackova in the Czech Republic where she joined Montenegro Ch Kaishmar  Karriannias Dream and Kaishmar Kristianna.

 

Heidi’s latest litter is by Loranka’s  Just Like Heaven born in December 2008 produced three girls and one boy.

 

 

To date Ch Kaishmar Cara Mia Mine  ( Heidi ) has won Best Puppy in Breed at Crufts 2005,   Cavalier Club Puppy of the Year 2005, 6 CCs and  6 reserve CCs. She is a once in a lifetime little girl and we are so proud of her. Now for us it is a case of  Follow That -  NotSo Easy.
